Mandatory volunteer orientation: all volunteers are required to attend an orientation session before the event. Date & time to be confirmed, we’ll email every applicant as soon as it’s locked in.

Waiver & release of liability *

In consideration of being permitted to volunteer at Legacy Jam 2026 (the “Event”), taking place October 24–25, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of risk. I understand that volunteering at a live dance and cultural event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, property damage, and exposure to crowds, equipment and travel between venues. I voluntarily assume all such risks.

Release of liability. I release and forever discharge Legacy Jam, MEC Crew, its organizers, staff, contractors and venue partners from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of my participation as a volunteer, except where caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Media consent. I understand that photos and video may be taken during the Event and grant Legacy Jam permission to use my likeness in photos or video for promotional purposes, without compensation.

Code of conduct. I agree to conduct myself professionally, follow the direction of event organizers and leads, and represent Legacy Jam and the breaking community with respect.

Sobriety. I agree to remain sober for the entire time I am volunteering at the Event, for the safety of myself, my fellow volunteers and attendees, and to represent the breaking community well to the youth, parents and community members present.
